Testing BlogJet
I have installed an interesting application – BlogJet. It’s a cool Windows client for my blog tool (as well as for other tools). Get your copy here: http://blogjet.com

Beccary Was Great But…

Beccary was a great skin but I would like to try out a quicker loading skin.
Tomahawk
This text editor is worth checking out: the editing of PDF documents is native to it.

You may download it from here: http://www.nativewinds.montana.com/software/tomahawk.html
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! Time passes swiftly. In just a few days I am turning 45 and going back to work. Hmmmm. I wish I had more new years like this…
Not A Notepad Replacement
The name “TexNotes Pro” may sound like another one of those Notepad replacements. It is not. It is rather a Personal Information Manager that functions like TreePad. The software is downloadable from GemX. One of its features that I find useful is its ability to publish its contents into an eBook. It is the application I used for making “Guide to the Lectio” now offered for download at AgustinongPinoy

Beccary
Wondering about this theme? It is called “Thirteen” and was made by Beccary who is also the author of several other themes displayed at WordPress.Net. She is from HongKong and keeps a blog where she gives a “peep” into her life there. She is studying to take her place in the IT industry and — from what I’ve seen in her blog — is quite a writer too.
Writely.Com
Have you checked out Writely.Com yet? It is a website for collaborative work on documents. You can upload a MSWord document allow others to edit it and then you can download it later on. It is just the kind of tool that students and even professionals would like to work with. If this website succeeds, we might as well say good-bye to the Wiki as we know it know.
Writely is for the moment free. It is still in Beta and I found that there are still a lot of kinks to be worked out, like the blogging functions. You can have a document posted in your blogs through Writely, but I didn’t quite succeed in doing so for this site and another one at Blogger. But even if you cannot publish it in a blog, there is also a Web publishing facility that makes your document browsable through the servers of Writely itself.
I hope that Writely’s no-cost service would always remain no-cost even beyond Beta. There was another website that offered the same services called “Goffice” but I think they’ve gone commercial. In any case, if you are a secretary, you can impress your boss with the service.
Visit Writely.
Opera 9 Up and Flying!

Opera is the Norwegian-made browser that is competing for its market share against Mozilla Firefox and Explorer. It used to be commercial but after version 7 it began to be offered for free. Its marketing strategy is sound and may pose a serious threat to both Firefox and I. E. Consider this:
- It focuses on the young
- It has a vibrant community of users
- It has an international version for its browser (no need downloading of extra language packs as in I. E.)
It is now on its 9th release and is available for download. What’s more it is free. Features include:
- tab browsing
- skinnable interface
- widgets (in FireFox lingo, plugins)
- BitTorrent support (for those monster downloads)
And did I already say you also get a free blog and photoalbum site?
From QuickCam To Nikon CoolPix

My LogiTech QuickCam has been with me since 2003. The photos that you see in my blogs were taken with it. There are limits to the capacity of this cheap but very useful camera, however. It cannot take night pictures like the one below.
Great Browser Extension

Finally, a browser extension that allows one to blog. Performancing.Com’s FireFox blogging extension should remain among the favorites at the FireFox central for a long time. Those who are familiar with Qumana’s blogging software would find it easy to configure this blogging extension. It is made to work with WordPress.Com and Blogger.Com among others and one can also use it for one’s blog site.
I have used Performancing’s FF extension for AngFrayle and decided to keep it. I am a Qumana user but it seems to require a lot of memory from my Windows98. Performancing, however, doesn’t seem to create problems.
The extension can work well with three other FF extensions: Scrapbook (for capturing webpages and storing them in your browser’s sidebar), QuickNote (your FF Notepad, good for copy and paste operations) and Sage (a newsreader). The image above shows the Performancing editor positioned just below a webpage that I have taken out of the Scrapbook. The same can be done online using a newsreader. With this kind of arrangement, it is easy to quote from a webpage and make a comment.
